Marie Callender’s Just The Right Portions #under500

marie callender's logo When I was younger, it seemed I was a bottomless pit. I could eat any dude under the table. Then I had my 4th child and all of a sudden I wasn’t eating as much at one sitting! Somehow, I had become a grazer. I pretty much eat all day.

This is where a meal from Marie Callender’s #under500 meals comes in super handy. I am able to eat a full meal, walk away full, and not leave food on my plate to throw away. Now, if you’re watching what you eat because you’re on a diet or just trying to eat healthier, these meals have are under 500 calories and your portions are enough for you to get your fill.IMG_7927Tonight’s meal consisted of 2 good size pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes and a nice side of carrots & broccoli. To me, this was a nice, All-American meal. I think it would’ve been nice to have some seasoning on the veggies. I don’t add butter, salt or anything else to my veggies so a bit of flavor would’ve been good.

The chicken and mashed potatoes were yummy. I think with most frozen meals, mashed potatoes have a hard time staying fluffy or at least full looking. The appearance didn’t really matter to me, because they were good! Speaking of staying fluffy, I felt the same when it came to the broccoli. They were a bit flat and not a “crown” like you’d expect from one. Again, they tasted good, and that’s the bottom line for me.

IMG_7930 When I look at the photo above, I think maybe Marie Callender’s should have a 3rd compartment specifically for the mashed potatoes as well, Would keep them from smearing under the chicken. I’m not one of those people who cares if their food touches.

I understand the people who are watching what they eat are trying to make sure the portions they get in a meal are enough to keep them satisfied until the next time they eat. With Marie Callender’s not only do you get a full meal that’s under 500 calories, you’re getting enough to eat so that you won’t really be tempted to eat again until it’s time for your next meal.

If you could create a Marie Callender’s meal, what would it be? Would you include veggies?

I don't mind my food mixing together so much. I'm the one who finds all of the random stuff in the fridge and cupboard, and throws them together, like potato chips with eggs over easy. Hey, thanks for coming by Mommy LaDy Club! I followed your other review blog, and then came here, and I was already a follower:)
