Body Of Evidence By Irene Hannon

Body of Evidence
by Irene Hannon
Publisher: Revell
Series: Triple Threat
ISBN: 9780800736194

After getting to know Cate and Even in the previous two stories, I couldn't wait to read Grace's! These sisters have been great to get to know and the suspense in all three book have been fantastic. The publisher sent me the book for review.

Summary:

The dead don't give up their secrets easily

Forensic pathologist Grace Reilly has seen her share of unusual deaths in rural Missouri. But when she begins to notice a curious pattern in autopsies of older residents whose demises appear to be natural, she takes her concerns to Sheriff Nate Cox.

Nate is skeptical about the link Grace is seeing between the deaths, as well as her suspicions of foul play. But her persistence is compelling. And once they join forces to investigate, danger follows close behind. Because exposing the truth could destroy several lives--including Grace's.

Queen of inspirational romantic suspense Irene Hannon closes out her bestselling Triple Threat series with this gripping tale of secrets revealed and romance sparked.

My Review:

Want a shocker of a story of a suspense story? Here it is! lol

I liked getting to know the youngest of the Riley sisters in Body of Evidence. Grace was a sweet character even if she is a forensic pathologist. lol There was some very descriptive scenes in here so if you have a queasy constitution, proceed with caution. HA! I really liked her as a character. She sank her teeth into the mystery of the deaths of two people and ran with it.

Then there's Nate. He's the new Sheriff in town. Their paths cross immediately and he's immediately smitten, although, he's got a girlfriend. Nate and Grace start to realize there "might" be something fishy going on and as we watch the story unfold, it's just a matter of time before we hope they start putting the pieces together.

I thought Nate and Grace were a bit overzealous in their thoughts of each other so early on, but that's probably a personal issue I have in stories in general. (shrugs)

The story was quite the nail biter. It was definitely creepy. And there was NO way I would've figured it out until almost the very end. And I had quite the shocked face once it was revealed. I may have, kind of, chuckled when it all came to light because... well, just wow. I can't say why! hahaha

And let's just say the epilogue will have you fanning yourself. ;)

Merry Ex-Mas By Courtney Walsh

Merry Ex-Mas
by Courtney Walsh
Publisher: Independently Published
ASIN: B0BGD31R93

Courtney Walsh does such a great job with romance and this Christmas-y rom-com will give you all of the holiday feels! I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read this clean romance as we head towards the end of the year. I was sent the ARC ebook for review.

Summary:

I haven’t been home for Christmas in eight years.

But that’s about to change. This year, I’m traveling to my small hometown to convince my producer to make me the permanent host of Good Day Denver.

The plan: Charm viewers by sharing my favorite family Christmas traditions, and in turn, get the likes, clicks and shares to land the job.

Not the plan: Running into my ex-boyfriend.

In my house.

For Christmas.

But here he is, a guest of my mother, who apparently had more trouble letting go of Max Weber than I did.

Unfortunately, he is as handsome and charming and talented and annoying and frustrating and flirty as ever.

Even more unfortunately, he seems to have a plan of his own—to convince me to give him a second chance.

Which is not happening.

There’s just one problem—my viewers love him. More than that, they love us. Me and Max. My ex.

The boy who broke my heart.

The boy I now have to fake flirt with to win over the hearts of my viewers.

But it’s not their hearts I’m worried about. . . it’s mine.

Merry Ex-Mas is a sweet, small town, second chance romance with a dash of not-so-fake flirting, a tiny bit of enemies to lovers and just enough forced proximity to make things sizzle.

My Review:

If you're looking for a Christmas story that gives alllll of the Hallmark vibes, look no further than this one! This clean, second-chance romance will light up your days like a Christmas tree as you read it.

I liked Marin. She's a go-getter and has her sights set on being the next host of the tv show she works on. Things don't go "right" for poor Marin from the get-go. The moment her mom opens the front door to their home, it all spirals out of control. When her ex, Max, steps into view, everything we imagine could go wrong, does.

Max is pretty amusing and plays up every moment he's with Marin. He gives her a hard time, in a sweet way, meanwhile she's NOT amused. As readers we also can't escape the fact that he's cover model worthy! You know how this will all play out, right? hahahaha

Since Marin & Max's families live in "Podunk" USA they do allll of the small town Christmas-y things. Max is constantly thrown into the mix and the audience loves it. There are some scenes that had me laughing out loud! I could just seem them unfolding in my imagination.

Of course, they have to deal with their breakup so that there can be some healing. Unfortunately, it's like ripping off a band-aid more than once. So rough to see, but true to form that forgiveness isn't always simple or easy.

Now, I have to say I had a slight issue with Marin's mom who was a bit manipulative in the beginning & did a wee little lying - albeit with a good heart and the best of intentions. This is just a personal pet peeve of mine. I "get" where she was coming from, but it still bothered me. lol It was a bit ironic towards, then, end when she brings up Marin's sneakiness with her viewers. cough cough hello kettle. ;)

If you're looking for a feel-good, "home for the holidays" where things go awry, then you'll want to get your hands on this story! it'll absolutely put a smile on your face and I guarantee laughter!

*I received the ARC ebook for review. This is my personal opinion.

Book Excerpt:

They rode in silence for a while and finally pulled into Howard Park. A short distance across the causeway, he parked on the far side near the water. Evening was dropping fast. Seagulls called, the wind blew cool and damp, and sea-salt smells filled the air.

After kicking off their shoes, they headed across the sun-warmed sand. When they hit the hard sand along the water’s edge, she turned and headed up the beach at a fast clip. Garrett hesitated a moment then met her stride.

They circled the small island, passing a few other late comers. He wondered if a park service employee would run them off soon. The park closed at dark, and dark was almost on them.

Ryann stopped abruptly and glared at the dark waters. So, did she want to talk anymore, or should he leave it?

A half-moon rose over their shoulders competing with the setting sun. The wash of tangerine, blue and sapphire would be gone soon fading into night. Shallow waves rushed and withdrew, their hush-hush sound background music to his thoughts.

He cleared his throat. “I keep hearing about this forgiveness stuff.”

“Yeah, me too. Only if you forgive, that doesn’t change the other person.”

Ah. There was someone she felt should change. His dad kept acting like Garrett should change, and Garrett was sure his dad should. “What if they don’t feel they need to change?”

Her laugh sounded like a bark. “That’s the thing. They don’t feel they have to. So why should I forgive?”

He was sure she should, but she was getting out of his league now. Pastor Alan or Reece could help with that question. “You should ask someone who knows this stuff.”

Ryann shook her head. The wind tossed her hair across her face, brushing her lips. He swallowed, stared over her head at the Gulf waters.

“Maybe?”

She huffed. “Maybe.”

“Someone important hurt you. Let you down. They tell me that’s the stuff you gotta deal with.”

She huffed again.

“That guy you were facing off with at the church? He’s one of those that hurt you, right?”

“Matt? Maybe.”

“Lot of maybes here.” He tilted his head, wondering if he should pry anymore. “Come on. Let’s walk.”

She turned, sent him a long look from under her lashes. “You do this often?”

“Walk at the beach? Just started since joining IronWorks. Some of the guys there come out regularly. I like it. Seems the wind blows dust from my mind.”

“Why did you join the gang?”

He said nothing, but watched the wind catch her hair, twirl it. Behind her, across the waters, the sky had turned dark violet. Warmth stirred in him that had nothing to do with physical desire, but everything to do with the pleasure he felt being with her, that she’d wanted to come, that she’d shared something of herself with him. It made her question not so intrusive, and he gave her the condensed version about his mom dying and his father’s descent into alcoholism and abuse.

She stopped. “I’m sorry about that.”

He could feel her concern. “Yeah, me too.”

“How are you and your dad now?”

“Still a long way from where it should be.”

Her chin dipped as if acknowledging that, and she started walking again. He caught up in two steps. Moonlight shimmered on the waves now. The rush and crash from their interplay creating a hypnotic effect.

Ryann wandered near the water, kicked spray into the air. A hundred lights caught the moon’s glow and winked at them—a counterpoint to her frustration.

He drew close, making sure she could hear him over the wind and waves. “So, Matt?”

She glanced his way but didn’t answer.

Okay then…

He lifted a hand to her cheek. The moonlight glinted on her hair, across her nose. Her lips pulled in, and he felt her studying him, felt her hesitation. He slipped his hand down her jaw, under her hair, to the back of her neck.

How long had it been since he’d wanted to kiss a woman, nothing more on his mind? Since he was fourteen? Sixteen? In the gang, women were objects. To be used. Yet right now all he wanted was to continue this closeness that had suddenly developed between them, to get to know her.

He pulled her gently forward, his gaze searching hers. Lowering his head, turning it, he pressed his mouth against hers, feeling its softness. She didn’t pull away. He dropped his hand down her back, let his arm draw her close, felt the length of her against him.

The Bookshop Of Secrets By Mollie Rushmeyer

The Bookshop of Secrets
by Mollie Rushmeyer
Publisher: Love Inspired
ISBN:  978-1335426215

Who else is having heart eyes with this cover?! Did I want to be on Mollie's launch team because of the cover and title? Yes I did! Did she send me her book for being on her launch team? She did!

Summary:

A collection of lost books holds the clues to her family's legacyand her future.

Hope Sparrow has mastered the art of outrunning her tragic past, learning never to stay anywhere too long and never to allow anyone control over her life again. Coming to Wanishin Falls in search of her family's history already feels too risky. But somewhere in the towering stacks of this dusty old bookshop are the books that hold Hope's last ties to her late mother—and to a rumored family treasure that could help her start over.

Only, the bookshop is in shambles, and the elderly owner is in the beginning stages of dementia and can’t remember where the books lie. To find the last links to the loved ones she's lost, Hope must stay and accept help from the townsfolk to locate the treasured volumes. Each secret she uncovers brings her closer to understanding where she came from. But the longer she stays in the quaint town, the more people find their way into the cracks in her heart. And letting them in may be the greatest risk of all…

My Review:

This is my first book by Mollie and won't be my last! I'll be honest, I judged the book by the cover so I had no idea what the story was about. There was SO much to take in between the covers and it was incredibly powerful!

I'm so VERY grateful for authors who are tackling tough topics that affect our world. I think it's important to mention that human trafficking (not saying the "s" word) it a vital part of this story. And while the author does an incredible job of helping us feel the horror through Hope, she doesn't overdo it to where the story feels fake or forced. Any reader will be impacted by Hope's story.

THAT being said, I just loved this story overall. As a caregiver I could relate to Ronan's family as they took care of his grandpa. Of course, there is the bookshop... which I wish existed because I'd love to visit it. If you've never been up to the Lake Superior area in Minnesota, it really came to life through the author's writing. It's a beautiful area.

We get to know Hope as she's trying to start a new life for herself, but she has to get some books her mom left her. That leads her to Wanishin Falls where Dusty Jackets is located. That's where she begins to meet the people of the town. If you have ever lived in a small town, you know you can't stay anonymous for long. Then she meets Ronan whose family has something of a reputation. As the story goes along, the layers of their lives begin to reveal themselves. And yes, the small town vibes play well into this story.

The faith element is wonderful and I enjoyed how the author added it into the treasure hunt. Speaking of which, there is a LOT of excitement that goes along with that storyline. Both Hope and Ronan have to figure out where they stand with the Lord. And if you like characters you enjoy disliking immensely, this one contains a few!

I can't wait for more stories from this author. Would I love for them to begin in Wanishin Falls? You wouldn't see me complaining!

About the Author:

Mollie writes Contemporary Fiction with a Heart for History, a blend of modern settings and fascinating historical elements woven throughout.

Range By Ronie Kendig + GIVEAWAY

Range JustRead Blog + Review Blitz

Welcome to the Blog + Review Blitz for Range by Ronie Kendig, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours! I received the ebook ARC for review!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Range Title: Range
Series: The Metcalfes #3
Author: Ronie Kendig
Publisher: Task Force Press
Release Date: September 30, 2022
Genre: Clean with faith elements, Romantic Suspense

He's back and he's out for blood

Fed up with living in the shadow of his brothers, Range Metcalfe struck out to carve a name for himself—one written in the blood of many a terrorist. Now, he’s targeting the notorious Madam of Kandahar, who has trafficked children and women. Finally given the green light, he captures her and quickly finds himself entrenched up in a deadly encounter that forces him into the Afghan wilderness—with the madam.

Ten years trapped in human trafficking and five of those spent overseeing a compound, Kasra Jazani has little left of her soul. No longer able to live with herself, she takes matters into her own hands and coordinates an escape, a massive coup against the man who has kept her and so many others captive. They flee into the night—right into the fierce and capable hands of American operators, who ruin everything and put lives at risk. Livid, she knows death is coming for them, because she also holds a very dangerous, very powerful secret: the name of the man at the top of the trafficking ring. Now that monster wants her—and her American protector—dead.

PURCHASE LINKS: Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble

My Review:

Did we need another Metcalfe to fall in love with? Apparently so because Range is broody and wants justice! What more could we want in another Metcalfe brother?!

You get a vibe about the book from the start and it's an intense one. Range is with a team to snatch the Madam from the Raud compound and force her to tell them who is behind everything! Kasra has plans of her own and as we see her preparing, we also get to know her better.

I think most of us would see the trafficking world the same way Range does. I'm thankful that there are people out there fighting like he is to bring people to justice. But through the author's writing, we also see that those who are meant to protect don't always do as they should. She shows how twisted minds can be. I also believe we forget that people who have been part of this "trade" didn't become part of it willingly - again, we see this through the character interactions.

Range has to do everything he can to keep Kasra safe & protected. The race to get her secure has both of their lives at stake and they get more than a little banged up along the way.

There's SO much to this story. Unless we've lived their lives, I don't think any of us can know the depth of terror trafficked people live through. The author does an EXCELLENT job (sadly) of giving the reader a terrifying glimpse into what they must endure. Utterly heartbreaking!

We NEED more of these stories, as painful as they are to read, to continue to shed light on this inhumane treatment of human beings - those created in the image of God. I'm thankful Ronie has tackled this extremely difficult topic, has made it raw & gritty, and has shed a light on what happens in the darkness.

Artza Box - Negev Desert

Can I just saw how sad I was to miss reviewing the last box Artza put out? Life was so busy I just knew I wouldn't have the chance to get to it. When they offered the Negev box, there was no way I was saying, "No," to them! I'm thrilled to share the latest box with you!

First, I want to let you know about the amazing options you have for purchasing their boxes. There are TWO subscription plans with two options in each. First is the Artza Subscription Plan that is either $74.99 quarterly for 4 boxes or $60 billed annually and that includes an extra 5th box for FREE! Second there's the Artza Premium Subscription Plan. Instead of up to 8 items per box, you will receive up to 9 items per box. That starts at $94.99 billed quarterly or $76.00 which is billed annually plus you receive an extra 5th box for FREE! With those deals it's hard to decide, right? To top that off, use my discount code to get 15% off with your order: MIMI20!

Now, let's check out what goodies came in my Negev box!

First is the ADI handmade ceramic dish with olive leaf. The residents of ADI have severe disabilities. Plates like the one I received are part of their rehabilitative vocational workshop sessions. This beautiful dish is going to get a lot of use in the future! I imagine using it for flavored oils to dip bread in. I also plan on using it in lots of my future photos!

Next is the Dany & Galit Super Berry Granola. It has everything you want to either jumpstart your day or as a snack. This Super Berry Granola is vegan, dairy free, no added sugars, no artificial sweeteners, and enriched with dietary fibers. The seeds and berries aren't small pickings either! They're large and delicious! Dany & Galit created this granola blend for Artza and I can't get enough of it! If I thought I liked granola before, now I LOVE it!

I know I'm a bit late to the game, but I've really been trying hard to take extra care of my face. I'm now a woman of a certain age and should've been treating my skin better years ago. Needless to say, better late than never. So, I took the Arugot Green Classy & Lamineria Facial Mask, applied it to make face, and after 5 minutes, rinsed it off with warm water.
  • The scent is amazing because of the aromatherapy extracts!
  • After I rinsed it off my face felt incredible!
This fascial mask is for all skin types and is certified organic & vegan. Arugot grows their own organic plants in the desert of Israel next to the Gaza River where Abraham and Issac dug wells!

Next is a fun game for the whole family. Hooga has created a game called Connecting Hearts. It's "the game that makes every participation feel included." I think it would be fun as an ice breaker at a party, when the kids have their friends over, or maybe at the dinner table after everyone has finished eating. A person picks a heart card, reads the question, and everyone else has to guess what the answer might be for the person who picked the card. The person who answers correctly gets the heart. Whoever has the most hearts at the end is the winner.

Now we have the Dukkah Spice Mix. We've had spices from Derech Hatavlinim in the past and they've been fun to sample! My husband (the one who cooks all the time) always appreciates that Arza sends along a recipe to try their spices with! The Hearty Dukkah Yogurt Soup looks and sounds like the perfect fall recipe. Or & his father created this locally grown spice blend to match the flavors of the Negev Desert! We can't wait to try it. I can tell you that it smells incredible!

I have a few olive wood crosses that I love to lay around the house and use for photos with my books. It's a smooth, light-weight and unique with the wood's design. I appreciate this little bonus item.

Last, but not least, is the hand painted Moroccan "Shalom" tile. Zuak is rather fascinating. It "develops connections between the periphery and the center, between East and West, between Judaism and Islam, looking for similarities rather than differences. How great is that? The bringing together instead of the breaking apart. Usually I let someone else do the craft, but this time I decided to try my hand at it. I have to say I'm honestly thrilled at how my tile turned out!

One thing I found unique about the craft is that it suggests taking an hour of quiet for yourself. They even have a playlist you can listen to as you paint! I listened to a book while I did mine. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I love the peaceful colors of it!

This was a really fun box and I can't wait to see what goodies lay inside the Christmas box! Be sure to sign up for a subscription so you get in on the holiday action!!

Do you have a favorite item from this box?

Mama Sing My Song By Amanda Seibert

Mama, Sing My Song
by Amanda Seibert
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
ISBN978-1400235544

I love having books that I can share with my granddaughter that will remind her of God's great love for her. When I had the opportunity to read Mama, Sing My Song I accepted and they sent me the book for this review.

Summary:

Mama, Sing My Song is a beautiful children's book about God's big love, giving families affirming words to shower on their kids, revealing the bright joy, deep care, and unending love they have in their hearts. Amanda Seibert, founder of Mama Sing My Song, the popular company that creates personalized songs for parents to gift to their children, knows that the words we speak over our little ones can shape them for years to come.

When we look at our children, we see those one-in-a-million grins, their crinkled noses, and sweet eyes looking back at us, which soften our hearts. God designed those babies uniquely, and Mama, Sing My Song is a celebration of all that is lovely and true about your child. Let your little ones know they are safe, loved, and cherished in your family.

This affirming picture book for 4- to 8-year-olds

  • celebrates the love between parent and child;
  • encourages kids to embrace God's love for them;
  • provides kids the security and love they're seeking; and
  • highlights all that is good in our little ones.

With snuggly illustrations of animal families, Mama, Sing My Song

  • features unique presentation pages to write your little one's name, plus space to journal special messages and a prayer for your child;
  • includes a free downloadable song;
  • is a great gift for baby showers, Mother's Day, Christmas, and birthdays; and
  • has a beautifully designed cover, perfect for displaying in a nursery or in a gift basket.

Hold your little ones a little closer as you share this timeless, heartfelt love note with them.

My Review:

Want a story that will make you tear up every time you read it? Mama, Sing My Song is it! I know, you're probably thinking, "Why would I want to nearly cry while reading a children's story?" Because this one is incredibly sweet and tender! And if that's not enough, there's a QR code inside that will allow you to download the actual song!

The story is wonderfully illustrated. The different animals each looks soft and cuddly. The places where each animal lives is reflected in every page spread. Shout out to the fox page with the monarch caterpillar and butterflies!

Mama, Sing My Song reinforces not only the love of a parent, but the even greater love of God. Each page reminds the child that they are wonderfully made and treasured by God. I appreciate that this story isn't just about a parents love, but more about God's is a "million times more"!

What's neat about this book is that it can become a memento for the child because at the front and back are places for the parent to write answers to the prompts! When they're older they can be reminded of the special parts of who they are.

I can't wait to share this story with my little lovey when she's a little bit older.

Dream Of Kings By Sharon Hinck

Dream of Kings
by Sharon Hinck
Publisher: Enclave
ISBN: 9798886050080

Having been a long time fan of Sharon Hinck, I was excited to learn about her newest release! Being blessed to be on her launch team, I was sent an ebook ARC of Dream of Kings!

Summary:

The Future Never Sleeps

In the glacial nation of Norgard, Jolan the Dream Teller serves every seeker, whether peasant or high lord. Though she loves using her gift, she struggles to navigate the corrupt and dangerous court and the jealousies of the Guildagard.

When an old man’s nightmare imparts a dire warning, Jolan realizes her entire nation is in danger. But before she can sound the alarm, she is betrayed by the guilds and sold into slavery in a rival kingdom far to the south. As a slave in a foreign land, at first Jolan can’t see beyond her singular focus: return home to warn Norgard of the coming calamity. After facing new dangers, making new friends, and forgiving old wrongs, she must fulfill the purposes the Provider has set before her.

Only then can she face a decision that could cost her the man she loves, her calling, and her freedom—all to save a people who abandoned her.

My Review:

What a fantastic story!! Sharon Hinck does such a fantastic job in this genre. I absolutely loved Dream of Kings!

So, I'll admit that it took a little time to realize that Jolan's life has parallel lines to Joseph's in the Bible. It's subtle initially. You probably won't realize it at first, but there was a spot where a light bulb switched on and it all became clear. When that happened I looked forward with eagerness to see how the rest of the story was similar.

Jolan is traded to a far away country and watching her struggle to accept her new reality is hard, but seeing glimpses of the Lord (Provider) gives many moments of hope. There are so many ways Jolan is relatable. We all struggle with trust and faith in our walks with God. He has also gifted us in different ways like Jolan. She's able to interpret dreams.

As she's trying to figure out a way to get home, as with Joseph, she's called upon to interpret dreams. I'm telling you, it makes me giddy thinking about Jolan's story in light of Joseph's.

I also loved this world that the author has created. From the colorful ribbons in the sky, to the different nationalities, and to the various lands, it all comes alive through the author's writing. We see how idols are worshipped and how hard it can be for Truth to break through to stubborn hearts.

And can I just say how refreshing it is for a ruler's wife to show kindness? So often, these women are portrayed as evil and ruthless, and while I'm sure Lily is a master manipulator (I mean, wait until you read her storyline) this character wasn't that way! I also loved the dynamic between Jolan and Siverlon. She's her sometimes awkward self and he's, well, the king. I can't forget Kamor! He's a man's man, a warrior, and the king's right hand man. I thoroughly enjoyed his character.

I know it's a standalone, but I'm wishing it was a series! I'm not ready to leave this fantasy world because it was so enjoyable.

The Lost Melody By Joanna Davidson Politano

the Lost Melody
by Joanna Davidson Politano
Publisher: Bethany House
ISBN: 9780800736910

After finally reading my first book by Joanna Davidson Politano last year I couldn't get enough of her stories! When I found out about The Lost Melody and her launch team, I jumped at the chance. She sent me her book for review.

Summary:

When concert pianist Vivienne Mourdant's father dies, he leaves to her the care of a patient at Hurstwell Asylum. Vivienne had no idea the woman existed, and yet her portrait is shockingly familiar. When the asylum claims she was never a patient there, Vivienne is compelled to discover what happened to the figure she remembers from childhood dreams.

The longer she lingers in the deep shadows and forgotten towers at Hurstwell, the fuzzier the line between sanity and madness becomes. She hears music no one else does, receives strange missives with rose petals between the pages, and untangles far more than is safe for her to know.

But can she uncover the truth about the mysterious woman she seeks? And is there anyone at Hurstwell she can trust with her suspicions?

Joanna Davidson Politano casts a delightful spell with this lyrical look into the nature of women's independence and artistic expression during the Victorian era--and now.

My Review:

I was transfixed by The Lost Melody. I don't know how else to explain it! This story was absolutely breathtaking! I had NO idea what to expect because I didn't know what the story was about. All I cared about was that Joanna had written a new book and I was reading it.

The story is deep and heart achingly wonderful. This is one you don't want to rush or miss a single word. At the start it took me a few chapters to absorb the setting for the story and who Vivienne is. Once we get a grasp on Vivi and the work she has planned now that her father has died, everything unravels.

The author brings to life an asylum that feels like it completely would've existed in that time. With the hindsight we have, as we get to know some of the characters we can see the labels we would give them today: autism, postpartum depression, Alzheimers, etc. And reasons people were admitted to asylums never fails to blow my mind.

How we get to know Vivienne at the start, watching her grow and learn more, not just about herself, but of God, His possible plan for her, and challenging who she thought she was is exquisite. We get to see each scale fall from her eyes one by one. While it's exciting, it had me holding my breath at the same time waiting for the next shoe to drop.

The relationships Vivienne forms while at Hurstwell really shows her that God is truly a God who sees. The author helps us, the reader, see the beauty of individuals, ne the music inside of them through their interactions.

This story is a work of art and I think should one day be considered a classic on par with Austen, Brontë, and Alcott. It's a story to be experienced and I don't want to give even a bit away!
