First I'd like to thank Lindsey from Zondervan for sending this copy to me per my request. I was NOT asked to review this book.

This daughter of a rock star has it all—until murder crashes her world. During a concert, sixteen-year-old Shaley O’Connor stumbles upon the body of a friend backstage. Where is God at a time like this? Can she find out who the killer is before he strikes again?

Do you ever read a young adult novel these days and wish it would've been around when you were a teen? This book, along with book 2, Last Breath, made me wish I'd had these types of books available to me!

Now, I better warn you, I'm pretty darn good at these suspense novels! I always think I know who "did it" pretty early on. I'll have you know, I knew 3 different times throughout this book who was the bad guy. Of course, each time it was a different person! In the end, I was totally wrong! hahahaha

Shaley O'Connor is on tour with her now famous mom, Rayne O'Connor and band. They're just finishing a concert and heading to pick up Brittany, Shayne's bff. As she and the body guards are getting ready to head to the airport, Shayne finds the body of make-up artist, Tom. He's been murdered.

From there it seems Shaley's life spins out of control. Thank goodness Brittany has arrived, but will her mom let her stay? They head to the hotel where the craziness doesn't seem to stop. One major thorn in their side is the paparazzi. They're always lurking around trying to get the next story. Rayne & Shaley even have nicknames for some of them like Frodo, Cat, Frog and Vulture.

In the midst of trying to find Tom's murderer, Shaley still tries talking to her mom about the dad she's never known. However, Rayne has no desire to talk about her past, regardless of what Shaley wants. Thoughts of her dad are sparked when a gift arrives at the hotel for her. She also finds a photo in one of her shopping bags from the mall. Is it possible Tom's murder has something to do with her?

As all of the insanity seems to speed up, Shaley has to put her lives in the hands of people she's not sure she knows as well as she thought and try to keep herself from becoming a victim, too.

This is the first novel I've read from prolific writer Brandilyn Collins. I love that she teamed up with her college-age daughter Amberly. I think they did a fantastic job with the mom/daughter dynamic. I think Amberly brought in her young life way of living through Shaley. This story is fast paced and keeps your mind guessing the whole way through on who could've been the murderer!
