My mom bought a puppy from my oldest daughter’s friend’s mom. Seven years ago she did the same thing and loved her Cappy dog so much, she wanted a second one. So, when we move out there in 3 weeks, we’ll be taking this new Gabby puppy with us.

Wordless Wednesday: First Vegan Cake

So, I guess my 2nd daughter is a vegan. I’ve never cooked anything vegan and to get the ingredients I had to shop at a store over an hour away! Thank goodness I had to go that direction a couple weeks ago. I made a Lemon Bunt Cake.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the finished cake because I was running behind. I did hear back from my daughter that it was really good! Hooray! Here’s what it should look like:

Wordless Wedcnesday: Basketball and K-Cups

Buddy had a great game last week! He made a basket and a free throw. That’s big in his book! It was his team’s first win and he was so happy to have contributed to the points.

I’ve bribed him the last couple of years. For every shot he makes, he gets a candy bar and for every two fouls he gets a candy bar! I got this idea from Smooch’s friend’s mom who would bribe her daughter with those massive pickles you get at basketball games. Candy speaks more to my kids! =)

 

AND…how much does my mom love me? We just got our Christmas presents this week and here’s what I got… 80 k-cups!!

It was so nice to have both of my girls home from college last week. We finally celebrated Christmas together as a family. I was so blessed to have all 4 kids under one roof again, if only for a few hours.

Wordless Wednesday: Ladies Day Out

My sister-in-law, Liz, and I went out for some last minute running around with our daughters. We had such a great time! Here we are at the end of the day at Caribou Coffee enjoying the Christmas music, singing aloud to some of it, and just enjoying our time.

Wordless Wednesday: Holiday Train

I was so bummed that I forgot about the holiday train that stops in our little town every year. They do food collections at each stop for local food shelves. I haven't been getting our local paper this year so didn't even realize the train was coming...until I drove into town to pick Buddy up from basketball practice.

It's really cool because they put on a musical show inside one of the cars for about 1/2 an hour. It's a wonderful night for families. Next year!

Wordless Wednesday: Family Game Day

Can’t believe I missed Wordless Wednesday last week. Life has been so crazy since Thanksgiving. Is it just me or everyone else, too?

Last Sunday the boys and I headed to the Cities for an event that didn’t turn out the way I had expected, but they had a fun time. I had an idea of what was going to be happening and it turned out to be something different.

The gal that did the face painting was stellar. She did it so fast, but man, she was good!

I also had the bonus of seeing Amy from Grinning Cheek to Cheek! Two days in a row I got to hang with her for a little bit.
