The Microsoft Store #saythankstomom

I was so thankful to get an invitation to The Microsoft Store Mother’s Day Event at the Mall of America last week. I really love any excuse to head down to the cities and tech is a perfect one!

me & Kristina When I first got there I saw a guy playing on an Xbox 360 w/ Kinect and he was playing a Star Wars game. The screen was huge and all I could think of was, “Oh my gosh, Buddy would geek out here!” We don’t have an Xbox or a large screen tv so this would be heaven for him!! Sam was awesome and took a photo for me and emailed it!

Star warsKristina is the PR gal from Windows and I have to tell you, she is SO enthusiastic about her job. She exudes positivity and happiness. She’s one of those people you just want to be next to and hope to absorb some of her joy.

The other bloggers showed up and Kristina got the show on the road. We were shown around the store and all the awesome gadgets we all wanted and were drooling over! Yes, I drool over anything tech! We started at the Asus computers. It was so sleek in design and extremely light. Have I mentioned before that I’m tethered to a desktop that’s 8 yrs old and built by my dad and brother? LOL

AsusNext Sam showed us the touch screen desktop. Now this baby is the kind of desktop I need! It was amazing to watch him use it!! Can I start making my tech wish list now?

The Microsoft StoreAfter checking out the gadgets, Kristina gave us some tutorials using SkyDrive, Paint, and Windows Movie Maker (which I’ve used before). She made it all look so easy!

It’s amazing the programs I’m so in the dark about and how to use them. How does anyone have time to figure out all of them? I realize that once you understand them it’s no big deal, but it’s taking the time to learn it!

Microsoft TutorialAt the end of the event, Kristina gave us some wonderful gadgets to take home. I was able to grab a few mice that I’ll be giving away soon so you’ll have to come back and enter when I get that post up!

I am keeping the super cool Arc Touch mouse. I watched her bend it and turn it on and thought, “that baby is MINE!” I got home, pulled it out of the box and tried using it. lol I kind of wasn’t so thrilled at first. It felt awkward in my hand and I don’t have the longest fingers so clicking wasn’t easy.

BUT, I wasn’t about to stop using it. Good thing because I’ve been using it for a week and wouldn’t go back to my other mouse now. I just had to take the time to get used to the feel and how to hold my hand. I love it!!

And, I actually remember to lay it flat and turn it off on occasion! I can’t wait until I have a laptop and this can go with me everywhere!!

I want to thank Kristina and The Microsoft Store for the #saythankstomom event!!

*I wasn’t compensated for this blog post in any way. I’m just sharing about my experience at The Microsoft Store. The mice were just a gift to the bloggers for attending the event.

I'll take one of each pleas! LOL! Actually, we have the XBox Kinnect and it is so awesome. It really makes it easy for younger kids to participate as well as the whole family play together. My 87 year old grandmother even played!

OMG the MALL OF AMERICA is by you!?!? I thought we had good shopping in Vegas!!! &I'm totally jealous that you have a Microsoft store, I'm fairly certain there aren't any of those here. That mouse looks awesome, can't wait to enter for one!!! :)

I'm like you in that I tend to stay with what's comfortable for me, and I have to kind of force myself outside that box. But when I do get used to things, I usually like them.

What a cool event!

Wow, that looks like fun! I think my husband would pass out with a system like that for his xbox.

So glad you got to do this! I wish I'd known about it - if they even did it here in Houston. Sounds like it was a great time. I probably would have spent too much money anyway!!
