Wordless Wednesday: Robin Eggs

We started off with 4 eggs, and then there were only 3. I think these babies were close to hatching, but we were gone this past weekend and the mama bird hasn’t been back. We think she was probably someone’s prey. Doodle wanted to nurture the eggs, but I explained to him how it just wasn’t that simple and although he didn’t like it, he understood there was nothing we could do for the unhatched eggs. Maybe next year.

Be sure to visit Full Time Mama!

I have seen the most pics of nests with eggs in them recently (and then afterwards when the babies have hatched)! Very sweet that he wanted to nurture them :).

Oh no :( Too sad about the birdies. Super cool that she got so close to your house though.

Those are great pictures you got. I am glad he was ok with the idea of not "rescuing" the eggs.

Those are beautiful eggs. My MIL had some Robins eggs hatch at her house. The boys are loving the baby birds. Hopefully your mama brd will come back.
