Feel Good Friday #1

Welcome to Feel Good Friday presented by The Girl Next Door Grows Up. Here's what we're supposed to do:
Pick one of these prompts and write about it on your blog! You can:

  • Just make a list. List 5 things that made you really happy this week. No matter how bad or boring you think your week was, I bet you can find 5 things.

  • Write about something that happened to you this week that really made you smile. Was it your child, husband, or maybe a complete stranger did to you?

  • Write about something that YOU did for someone else that really made them happy or laugh.
  • Is there something you treasure so much that every single time you look at it, it brings you happiness? Post a pic and tell everyone about it.
  • Having a hard week and can't find one good thing about it? Well then, what is your happy place? What do you think of that makes you happy? A past vacation? A childhood memory? We want to know!
I decided I would write about something that happened to me this week...Today as a matter of fact.

Trisha from 24/7 Moms, along with the other ladies from their site, are from Washington, where I lived before I moved with my daughters to Minnesota. One Tuesday during their weekly webcast we started talking about the Puyallup State Fair ("Do the Puyallup"). They have the BEST scones you will ever have in your entire life.

Trisha mentioned that she'd send me some during the Fair next Fall. That was a long time from when we had discussed it, probably back in January? I wasn't sure either of us would remember by September.

Today the UPS guy showed up with a box. Guess what was in the box? You guessed it, SCONES, glorious SCONES!! Two premade scones with the fabulous raspberry filling and a wonderful box to make my own. They're called "The Original Fair Scone" by Fisher.

I was in tears remember home and what life was like waaaay back when. We've been gone from Washington for 12 yrs next month. The time has seriously flown by. I miss it so much some days, especially now when the winter blues are setting in. I never experienced that in WA. We had crocus growing in February in MN. Here we have snow, snow and more snow. It won't be gone for good until at least the end of April, if we're lucky.

So, I'd like to thank Trisha from the bottom of my heart for this sweet gift she sent. It has made my day!!

Aren't you loving this weather? I am really excited for Spring - even though it may not be for awhile - at least it is coming :-))
