I Have Been Feeling Overwhelmed

Sometimes life just seems to speed out of control. I know to hold on to the moments, especially with my children, but as much as I know that in my head, I still let days slip by where I’ve been gone to work all day and come home and do blogging/online “stuff”.

Right now, I’m feeling overwhelmed. I have been for a couple of months now. I think since I went to BlogHer, I haven’t quite recovered from all the catch up work I’ve been trying to do.

Add to that, I’ve been working full time at work because we’re setting up Christmas and have been since the beginning of September. Well, September 10th to be exact. Now, I’ll finish this week up and go back to my regular part time hours. I will really like the breather next week.

I’ve also been trying to pitch my little blog as much as possible for the upcoming holidays. It’s not going so well. I think companies are inundated with bloggers who do product reviews and giveaways. They only have so much of a budget for this kind of stuff. Some companies are getting back to me, and even if it’s a “no” at least they’re getting back to me! Thanks Columbia for your reply! You guys do social media very well!

My daughter came home on Friday with a couple of her friends and they gutted her room. There’s nothing left but empty furniture and a bed that’s half made. She got an apartment this year and for reasons that I’ll share down the road (good reasons) she emptied her entire room out. As soon as she left, I sobbed like a baby. I never thought her room would be completely void of any evidence that she’d ever lived there. Life happens, our kids grow up. It’s not easy and I don’t like it one little bit, but what do you do?

Baby and her roommate

I’m guessing her sister will come home at some point and do the same thing. Does everyone feel overwhelmed when life changes? I know I do and that’s where I’m at right now. It’s been a huge year of change for me and the changes aren’t over yet!

Have you felt overwhelmed lately? Because of anything specific or just life in general?

Writing Prompts:

1.) What comes to mind when you think of the word ‘plaid’. a kilt?

2.) Share a moment when you felt overwhelmed.

3.) They’re smarter than they look! Write about a time your child was on to you. they’re rarely on to me!

4.) Choose an item you recently pinned on Pinterest and…TRY IT! Was it a success or failure? Wanted to do this one but not enough time!

5.) Tell us about the last thing that irritated  you. lol this happens too often and you just don’t want to hear about it!

Um... Overwhelmed? Yes? Much is happening and, as you know, I have a problem turning down a request. I'm working toward being more choosy about my "Yes" and I'm looking forward to January and a return to SoCal for R&R.

Sorry you feel overwhelmed. I read your posts from the last weeks. You are in my prayers.

I took on the irritated prompt. I'm sure no one wanted to hear about it, but that's not going to stop me!

I can totally relate to this post. I have been feeling overwhelmed and like I lost my focus. Maybe its just the season. Who knows.

Stopped by from Mama Kat's. :-)

Oh, I don't like this one bit lol. My son is 14 and even though I say sometimes I'm ready for them to go, the thought of their little rooms being empty terrifies me.

Lots and lots of days, I feel overwhelmed! Tidal wave overwhelmed. I guess we should take up surfing, huh?

HUGS Mama, I, too, have had a tough fall and I understand how you feel.

I think it's always hard when a chick leaves the nest, even for a good reason.

I'm constantly overwhelmed. When I go away it takes forever to catch back up. Heck, I ran a raffle at my kids' school with a friend *2 years ago* and I think I'm *still* backed up from then. Hang in there! --Lisa

Overwhelmed is an understatement! I was in a car accident that literally put me months behind on blogging sometimes I feel like I will never get caught up! I am so not ready for the holidays yet and my kids moving out is still awhile away but not sure I will ever be ready for that!

Oh you know I feel your pain on this one at so many levels. Cry it out Momma because it's cleansing and this whole thing is just hard! Maybe the slowed down work schedule will help a bit. Don't forget to breath. Hugs and sparkles!

I feel for you, mama. That's hard to see rooms and familiar places being stripped away. Hang in there, good things to come! :)

My daughter just turned 5; already dreading the day she moves out. I know I will sob like a baby, for a week.
